The Adult
Education Research Conference [AERC], originally the National Seminar on Adult
Education Research, was organized in 1960 as a forum for adult education
researchers who wanted to benefit from sharing research ideas and
materials. After meeting annually for
six years, it was decided that its size and tradition warranted a more formal
organization.
